Conversation through Time Tunnel

That year I was 25 years old travelled in U.K. and visited the Great Britain Museum in London; in the meantime taking course in a private language institution.

In the classroom we talked about the collection inside the Great Britain Museum, which I shared my view, sort of teasing British, after visited the museum about Chinese as visitors like me should take back those collection that British steal from China during WWI. The air was frozen after this thought came out of my mouth, I mutely encountered her staring to my opinion in that classroom, at that point, no one really understand or care of what I am talking about with the room full of foreign students.

I still remembered today that teacher's eyes looked at me with despairing of my opinion while the snow silently and beautifully dropped and flew in the air. In deed, Taiwan and China are truly poor at that time, don't have anything to be compared with the land she stands on.

Now 2008, I have oddly turned to become a mid aged American citizen; while I travelled in China during 2001-2005 standing on the toppest of the building in Shanghai and many cities I travelled and amazed the light speed rapid changes with reconstruction project going on wiped out 5 streets at a time within 2 years revisited the same place. I seem seeing the magic wand waving through the sky and wherever magic dust drop, the old and torn buildings vanished and replaced with new and shining high skyrises everywhere.

I think I don't need to talk to that British teacher about what changed I have seen in these two places that this world think people over there should not have voice to be heard, and just truly hope that she, as an citizen of Great Britain, can watch day after day the changes happened in both Taiwan and China under God's ruling and wishing one day she will understand how a person felt when their voice is ignored.

I am looking forward to your any new article write about French current Colony on this earth, and many other Western countries as well. Let's just talk about Tibetan's appearance, Dalai Llama look exactly like Chinese as you and me, while whether or not those French or British look like as the native people of their overseas colonized land.

Many Chinese like you just dance along with whatever subjects that is popular in Western world, and don't use their head to think why Westerners make it to be a popular topic. Agree? This is also the double standard I always claim as American's most shameful ugliness.

With your intelligent level, I would suggest you "Never believe what you see." In the meantime, I would suggest you to watch the tape of "L.A Riot" to understand better about the meaning of democracy and liberty which still need to have everything under governmental control. Chinese always has double standard about their own government and Western government, which reflect on their own behavior on obey the law in Western world and criticize the law in their own country if we are talking about the same regulation ruling the same issue. Chinese always has different standard to react to different authorities.

In USA, I do my best to obey and follow the law here, and when I traveling in China I do the same thing. I will do my best not to argue with any local authority. Do you agree this should be the proper attitude when you face to either American government or Chinese government? In many books and movies, we can see Chinese try to beautify everything about Western, as your article pointed out as "時至今日，反而是不斷拿納粹德國開玩笑，成為歐洲某種文化霸凌現象。這一點，東方國家遠遠不及" Western countries know how to control the majority of crowd and use it as a power of ruling.

I don't see anything wrong that China handled Tibet's protest while the crowd out of controlled. Everything China has done to this case is the normal procedure as you stated. You are like many Chinese that have never seen what the policemen in USA here handled the situation like this, so Chinese will criticize whatever Chinese government do to solve the problem like this. The crowd in the protest and the policemen in deal with those people who did not obey the protesting rules are all applied to your statement "自由與和平，並不是天賦，而必須爭取。"

The government of China just did what they need to have people obey the regulation as same as policeman all over the world give out citation when you or anybody violate any local traffic rule.

"戰爭的殘酷與藝術的完美交錯，於是道德不知如何自處。" Is this written by you? It is a beautiful sentence. Some other description about war that I can refer is Zhang, Ai-Ling article collection of 1939-1947. Most of stories about war are written from the point of view of soldiers or reproters, her books demo the view about the war from a young college female student and that is the age she was. "....everbody just got out of the bombing nightmare days ago.....on the street, I was eating a fried cake by a vandor's booth while a poor man's dead body laying few feet away with the skin turning purple ....."
