American Old Men! Please help San Jose and Oakland downtown!
As my husband and I keep on searching houses for our retirement location, it is inevitably to consider the low price housing area and unfortunately the downtown of San Jose and Oakland are always the lowest price area. One is poor Mexican town, another is poor Black town, we Chinese American really have nothing to do with these area if there is no money issue to bother us.
Therefore, on the way driving back from central valley, my husband and I starting on the subject of finding solution for these downtown issue.
I started with the idea to relocate all of poor residents from these downtown areas to a certain location of low price, new developed housing area in central valley if each of them can get certificate of house maintenance and sanitization course from adult school, they will get a new house to live without any payment as long as they give their old house back to city. It is a chance for these poor people to enjoy the most state of art of new home to enjoy their American dream.
As the result of governmental project with kindness to poor American citizens in Stockton where was a newly developed residential area, now are full of deteriorated new houses to prove those who live inside of the buildings lack of the knowledge to cleaning and maintain those newly built houses. It is sad to see a kind-minded project being ruined due to those benefited people lack of training to use and enjoy of it.
City needs to collect all of the old houses and tear down all of these junks, and redeveloping the downtown with new plan block by block. It is the only way a old city can be reborn with new design for newly functional business. As listening to my opinion, my husband agreed with my idea by saying it is only government can clean up this kind junkie crime area, where packed with many buildings are ill-designed add-ons without permit, improper, and dangerous structure.
Only American governmental old men has the authority to organize and pursue this kind of project, we as little Chinese American in this country can only speak out our idea without being addressed any importance of social status in this country and in the meantime need to be supervised by many of local female caucus. Who can make things work should only be counted if this country is still breathing and want to be alive.
One time I was joking about USA and China's government by saying both government are all very typically bureaucratic system, the only different between two is one is where you step into the governmental building there are people there but couldn't work things out; another one is you step into the governmental buildings there is no one there, you need to start finding where those governmental employees are to tell them what your business need them to work on.
Of course this is a joke; the real situation, of course, is better than this. There are many professional governmental employees, but they all seem lack of passion to refine their work better.
