Exclussive Act to X American
A gift from 1997 while I was working as a reporter writing an article about Chinese American in Bay area, the book of Chinese Gold was given to me as a gift by the publisher who published the book.
Chinese American is a very small amount of population in the United States yet a long history in California and actually has never became any major target on any exclusive movement for the reason of muteness if we compare with Black, Hispanic, or any other races in this country; even though the most unforgivable act of this government is they pick people base on skin color to ruling their exclusive act regardless to the crime against this country's benefit in moral.
The merchandise cargo ship back and forth between China and Monterrey Bay started in 499. In 1760 Spanish still set up an area in harbor for ship from China to boarding. The first documented Chinese American resident in Monterrey dated in 1815 which time that California still in Spanish Mexican period. 1850 federal census record show some Chinese reside in Monterrey bay region.
The anti-dynasty revolution war in China and the continuing WWI, WWII, and Civil war plus the Gold Rush in San Francisco increasing the number of Chinese immigrant to come to the bay area after 1850. I do believed if there is no war in China at that time period, the most Chinese will still continue on merchandise shipment as before and not to choose residing as the way they started voyage crossing Pacific Ocean since 499.
This story probably is same as any other immigrants that come to the United States and same as all others that form this country. Long before any of the anti whatever group of act, there is long history that a certain group people gather together launching their complains as collective movement to excluding another smaller group of people, and whoever can convince more people including local government, whoever can make their claim legitimately; especially when the economical depression hit the most of people in a society. No matter you are British American, Italian American, German American, French American, Japanese American...............
As long as you can form a power through media, through local meetings to make your claim as a collectively movement to have government to pay attention to your claim, local policeman, local government, up to state, federal; your claim will became a legal movement to excluding any other group you want to excluding them from the society, from the country of the United States.
Your claim will be legally put on ballet to be voted by anyone who has right to vote to decide which group of people you want to excluding them out of this country. This is legal process in democratic system to get rid of certain group of people including KKK is a legal organization in this country at that period of time.
Any idea to excluding any group of American? Any fear of become a target in the future if someone crazy enough to act up another exclusive act? It never be white to having any fear to be excluded by any act, that is also the reason the Federal government will accept the ruling of any exclusive acts in this country, and it is also the reason that pride promotion will continuing on to cause so much problem in this society.
If majority race became target to be excluded to not allow them own property in this country and not allow them to posses any civil right, then there must have a law to be made immediately through the media power of that majority group to anti-exclusive act, and any form of exclusive act will definitely be banned in this country.
So far, there is no any governmental department or legislature in this country thinking about the same problem happened in the future and seeking the solution on how the society need to deal with. What if the United States will have a war against U.K. again as the beginning time of establishing this country and should all of descendants of British American be placed in a concentration camp? How should we do with the situation like this to any race/group of American in the future during any war time or difficult time?
